Materials Questions
How lightfast are your works?
All works for sale on this blog are done with the highest quality artist materials available. Lightfastness varies by medium, see information below for specifics.
Acrylic Inks
All ink and brush works are done with Daler Rowney Acrylic Artist Ink. All inks in that range are rated with at least three or four stars on the lightfastness standards (from normally permanent to highly permanent.) These works are done on artist grade paper.
Open Acrylics
All open acrylic paintings are done with Golden's Open acrylic line of artists' paints. The colors I use are all given an "excellent" lightfastness rating (Lightfastness I). The paintings are done on Ampersand's museum series panels.
What framing recommendations do you have?
Acrylic Inks
Most works are done to standard sizes, to make it easy for you to choose a mat and frame in your budget. If possible, you should use UV glass to frame the works, but that is not strictly necessary. For the protection of the ink over time, you should mat the work so that it does not sit against the glass.
If a piece is a non-standard size you will need to get a mat custom cut to fit it to a standard size. Non-standard sizes will be noted on the sales post.
Open Acrylics
Most works are done to standard sizes, to make it easy for you to choose a frame in your budget. All works will be varnished, unless noted.
How should I care for my artwork once it's framed?
With proper care, it can last a lifetime. Your painting should not be hung in areas of high humidity like a bathroom. It also should be hung away from direct sunlight or harsh artificial lights.
Sales Tax Questions
What is the sales tax?
If you live in Texas, I am required by law to collect sales tax from you. It will automatically be added on when you pay. I just collect this tax and then hand it over to the authorities. Thank you for abiding by the law.
If you don't live in Texas, I am not required to collect sales tax from you. You won't have a sales tax charge.
Shipping Questions
What are the shipping charges?
Shipping to any US address is included in the price. International buyers will be charged an additional fee for shipping at checkout.
When will I receive my art?
All work will be sent out within three business days of confirmation of payment. It will be sent USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation. US customers should receive it in 3-5 business days after it has shipped. International orders will depend on their destination, but they will be shipped from the studio within three business days of confirmation of payment.
General Questions
Am I allowed to make copies of the art I buy?
No, you are not allowed to make copies of the art you purchase. Purchase of a copyrighted artwork does not transfer the copyrights of the artwork. I retain ownership of all rights of reproduction and all copyrights for all the artwork I create.
Are the colors in the images exact?
Every reasonable effort has been made to represent all the colors accurately on screen. However, monitors differ and so there is no way to guarantee the exact colors.
What if I have a problem?
If you have a problem with your artwork, please let me know. My desire is for you to be pleased with the artwork you purchase from me. Investing in original art is not something done lightly and I take your trust very seriously. Email me with your concern and we will work out an arrangement suitable to both parties.
